  • Health workers grow economies. Working for Health is working with countries to invest in health workers to drive economic growth, and create decent jobs, especially for youth and women.
  • The world is facing a shortfall of 18 million health workers. Working for Health is galvanizing the expansion and transformation of health jobs to prevent this.
  • Health and social care workers are vital for achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs). Health workers represent over fifty percent of the resources needed to achieve the health SDG Working for Health is catalysing change to ensure that health and social care workers are educated, employed, enabled and engaged.
  • The health and social sectors are major job creators. It is anticipated that 40 million new health and social care jobs will be created by 2030.
